Mental Floss Magazine App Reviews

Not an app. A magazine that you must zoom in to read each page. Not worth purchase. Would rather buy paper version.

Havent received a new issue in months. Checked my subscription list and according to the App Store this magazine was discontinued even though it still shows up as downloadable. So Ive cancelled my subscription.

Ive always seen this magazine around but never really picked it up. Glad I did. Read the Nov 2012 issue cover to cover in one sitting. This is my kinda read. Lots of interesting articles and factoids. Takes history and trivia to a new level. And two issues are free! May be my first online mag sub that I pay for strictly on the tablet vs paper based with a tablet component free.

When the quiz was interactive it was so awesome! The print size used to be perfect. The reading experience isnt as special. Its like reading a photograph of a magazine. The little details that made it a special tech edition, with scrolling (and things Im not tech-savvy enough to know the names of ) disappeared. I like the cutting and streaming/sharing bit they added, the back button, the part of the app experience when you are not reading the magazine. (The ways the issues are arranged and down/uploaded, ) etc. Oh well, Humans can never just make things better. They always have to make something worse for everything they make better.

The iPad is telling me that I purchased it but I didnt download it and there isnt any option given to do so. So I just blew 5.99 on nothing. I dont know how these reviews work but I wont hold my breath yet for anyone at mental floss to help me. 1 star until I get my issue!!

As much as I love this magazine as much I hate reading it. The fonts are so small I am afraid that at some point I have to choose preserving my sight over reading it all together.

Of all the mags I subscribe to, this is the only one I always read cover-to-cover!

Super excited to read Mental Floss on my iPad but I cant for the life of me get the app to work. It keeps telling me to turn my ipad vertically, but when I do nothing happens. The screen is grey, so I cannot read anything. So frustrated!

I love the magazine. I would give it a 5 star if only they would make the app so you can see better on the iPad mini. It is difficult to read. Please update so you can zoom in on articles

First off this is a brilliantly written magazine. The stories are well thought out and the writers approach each piece from an unexpected angle. The IPad version was a little rocky at first (I still read the paper version) but now I dont even touch my paper subscription. The iPad version has added features that just arent possible in the print. Definitely worth checking out.

I cannot get the current issue to load. The log in process is confusing and frustrating. This could be so much better.

Interesting magazine, but uncomfortable to read because the text is so small - cant zoom in like other e-mags - please fix so I can read you!

Stop forcing your apps icon to the top of my newsstand every time you update an issue. This is not an iOS thing, so dont make that claim. You and two other magazines are the only ones out of the 20 I have on my iPad that rearrange my carefully ordered newsstand. Oh wait, I just deleted the app because I dont like companies that mess up my device.

I have 12 different magazines on my iPad and have gotten rid of all my paper subscriptions with the exception of Mental Floss. It fails to load the magazines and when it does, it goes blank again and shows that it is not downloaded. Dont waste your money!!!

This app has crashed every time I’ve tried to access. I deleted and reload several times, same problem. Too bad as mag is pretty good. Almost unbelievable that they would launch an app this bad.

Love the magazine. App has always worked before. iOS 8 killed the app and now it crashes on launch almost every time. I have had success deleting and reinstalling, but then I have to re-download all my magazines. Please update and fix the bug.

As a paying monthly subscriber I expect to be able to read the content Im paying for. This is unacceptable for an app to crash on start up. Im using an iPad Mini w/retina running 8.0.2

Was up just enough to let me subscribe, now a constant crashes on my iPad Air.
